There are a lot of ways kids can get started programming. There are different devices – computer, mobile, robots – as well as different languages – Java, Python, Javascript. Too many choices can lead to analysis paralysis – you are so busy looking for the perfect choice, no decision gets made!
There is no “right” answer for the type of programming to use to get started. A good choice started today is superior to a slightly better choice started a couple years from now – just like investing! If you wouldn’t let analysis paralysis stop you from investing for retirement, why would you let it stop your student from beginning to program?
On this webinar we’ll discuss the most popular programming options, discuss the benefits of each, and make recommendations for moving forward. Here are some of the different types that we will cover:
- Kid specific – Scratch, Alice, Gooogle Blockly
- Traditional– Java, Python
- Trendy – iPhone, Android, Facebook
- Hardware – Lego Mindstorms, Raspberry Pi, Arduino
- Web – HTML/CSS, Javascript, Ruby, PHP
Join us Wednesday, July 25th at 7 pm PT to navigate the multitude of choices. Both parents and students ready to take charge of their education are welcome.
