Millions of kids grow up with aspirations of playing in the NBA. Being an All-Star. Winning a championship. Chris Bosh is one of the best basketball players in the world, and he wants to teach kids to code after he hangs up his sneakers.
Chris is extremely passionate about getting kids to program. You might remember seeing him on the Code.org video, alongside tech luminaries Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, promoting young students learn to code. Recently he wrote an article for Wired titled Here’s Why You Should Learn to Code.
It’s wonderful to see a superstar use his fame to inspire action in this area. There are millions of kids that look up to him and a direct message like this is sure to have a massive influence. He is even inspiring adults! One comment reads “Cool.. Thanks Chris.. I have a new found respect for you. I may even volunteer to teach a class.” Awesome!
Parents, if your son or daughter likes watching basketball, show them Chris Bosh’s video and article. They will be even more excited about learning to code!
Mr. Bosh, you’ll have a spot waiting for you at Breakout Mentors whenever you retire.
