The World Cup starts soon, and like the Olympics, it is a massive worldwide contest. 32 countries come together to play a common sport — bridging continents, languages, and culture.
This event is the inspiration for our International Themed Coding Contest. It is open to all, not just Breakout Mentors students. And there are multiple $25 Amazon gift cards for the winners!
What are International Themed Games and Projects?
Our contest description is broad to allow for your creativity to shine. Another way to put it is “Countries of the World”. We didn’t want to limit participants to making just soccer games, although that is a great option. Check out this Scratch game (press space to shoot):
You can make any project about the countries of the world. For example, here is a Flag Quiz in Python:
You can use any programming language to make your project. We just ask that it is shareable online.
What are the Prizes?
We will award three $25 gift cards to Amazon. One each for:
- Best Idea
- Best Programming
- Participation Drawing
So you don’t necessarily have to be a coding wizard to win. Get creative! And just for participating, you’ll have an equal chance to win the Participation Drawing.
How do I enter?
The contest is running now through the end of 2022. Projects are due before the clock hits midnight on New Years Eve.
Make sure your project is shared online with anyone who has the link. Then use this form to submit your information.
Other Questions
Can I submit multiple projects? Yes! Although you’ll be limited to just one entry in the Participation Drawing.
Can I submit a previous project I made? Yes, although we encourage you to revisit the code and improve it before submitting.
