When did you start to code?

I started to code in middle school learning Scratch in my technology class. I loved it so much I spent time outside of class working on side projects like recreating Angry Birds and Plants vs. Zombies.

Why is it important for kids to start coding when young?

Learning to code is like learning another language. You have to learn new words and syntax and train your brain to think in new ways. The earlier you start, the easier it is to learn.

What advice do you have for kids learning how to code?

There are a lot of ways to learn to code. Whether you’re making a Twitter bot, building a website, or recreating an arcade game, you’ll learn the most by working on projects that excite you!
