Summer is fast approaching, even if the weather still isn’t showing it!
Thousands of Bay Area kids go to coding summer camps. Many enjoy it, some even learn a little something. But we’ve heard from many parents – each following year is diminishing returns. It is tough to advance in big groups with wildly different student abilities.
Breakout Mentors provides the personalized approach for kids learning to code. Over the summer we offer small private classes so a group of friends can learn together.
The curriculum is fit to the exact experience and interests of the students. It’s not one-size-fits-all. We cap each group at 4 students so that we can continue to pay individual attention.
Summer 2017 in Berkeley, San Francisco, Piedmont, Oakland, Alameda, Orinda, Lafayette, Walnut Creek, and Emeryville
Nathan is our experienced UC Berkeley mentor who will be running the personalized classes this summer. He is finishing his junior year studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Nathan works with both beginning programmers and very advanced. He will be able to lead groups in the standards – Scratch, Python, and Java. He can also do Unity 3-D, intro to “hacking”, web development, artificial intelligence, and more.
Summer 2017 in Santa Clara, San Jose, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, and Fremont
Rachel is a junior Computer Engineering student at Santa Clara University who will be working with groups interested in Scratch.
How it Works
The classes are one week of 3 hours per day, Monday through Friday. The mentor travels to the students home and works with the group around the kitchen table.
Please contact us to discuss your student’s age and programming experience. We will customize the private class to be the perfect fit.
Then you can contact up to 3 friends who have similar interests and experience to join your group.
Also contact us to discuss which weeks are available in each location. Our schedule is just starting to fill up, but act soon!
