President Obama Asks Kids to Learn to Code

Yesterday kicked off Code.org’s Hour of Code. It is a big push by Code.org to promote millions of kids across the country try programming for just one hour this week.

President Obama kicked things off with a personal message to inspire kids to code:

It’s a truly wonderful effort the Code.org team is making to spread the message about the importance of programming education. It’s my hope that once kids are inspired, they will keep with it, applying what they have learned to make their own creative projects. This is where the true value of the knowledge is realized.
