Meet Our Mentors – Eduardo Higuera Rodelo

Eduardo is a sophomore at Stanford originally from San Diego. He’s able to make sure his students are having fun coding, while also being challenged. Let’s hear from him!

When did you start to code?

I started coding in high school but I really began to have fun with it after taking my first coding class at Stanford.

What do you find rewarding about teaching kids how to code?

In my opinion the most rewarding part about teaching kids to code are the times when we laugh or have fun together over one of their projects. It’s exciting to see them enjoy something that I have decided to study and it reminds me of how fun coding can be.

What advice do you have for kids learning how to code?

The best advice I can give to kids learning to code is work on projects they find fun. This makes the whole process of coding more enjoyable and in the end you have a project you are proud of and can enjoy.
